Monochromatic or color blocked outfits are not a new thing, by any means. They come and go throughout the seasons, and they are having a moment right now. We saw a lot of monochromatic street style looks coming out of NYFW 2018. But, here is the twist. As opposed to the traditional single colored outfit, this season’s take on the monochromatic look pairs slightly different shades of the same color. Whether it’s different shades of beige, white, pink or grey, this look is so chic and easy to do.

I talked about this a couple posts ago, but I have been making a serious effort to actually wear the clothes I already own, instead of always buying something new. I have so many great classic pieces, and one of my favorite things to do is mix and match and find new ways to wear old pieces. This outfit combines two of my tried and true staple pieces in my closet. I’ve owned this shirt and this sweater for years, but made an entirely new look pairing two slightly different shades of brown/camel.

Such a good idea and something I overlook all the time. It’s easy to forget how hard it is to dress cute at work when you stop going into an office everyday. I always struggled with trying to find cute but still work appropriate outfits. While I would not recommend this backless sweater for your 9-5, a monochromatic look is a fun way to spice up your work attire.
