4th of July

How is the Fourth of July already here? In my mind, as soon as the fourth happens, the summer is basically over. Maybe that’s dramatic, but the second half of the summer always flies by. We are packing up and headed to the beach in Michigan for the week, and I cannot wait to relax with my little family and watch Blake run up and down the beach. She is such a summer baby. She loves everything about it…the water, the beach, the heat. She can’t get enough. The last time we took her to the beach, she said “I’m so happy!” when she saw the water. Which basically makes me the happiest person in the world, even though I am a total winter person at heart.

Per usual, life is moving way too fast and the Fourth of July snuck up on me. I’m not really a red, white and blue person, but I do always like to wear something a little festive on the fourth. We usually spend the day at the beach and then go to the fireworks at night. Since I don’t have much red or blue in my wardrobe, I usually stick to white with a few accessory accents to bring in the red and blue and feel festive! That way, I can wear my Fourth of July outfit the rest of the year too, instead of buying something I will wear once.

Everything I’m linking on today’s post is Amazon primable (is that a word), Shopbop (which gives you free 2 day shipping if you have Amazon Prime, or ASOS (which gives free 2 day shipping all year round if you pay for it once, highly recommend this if you shop on ASOS occasionally). Those three are my go to places when I need to order things last minute.

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect white swimsuit that isn’t see through and actually stays where it’s supposed to. Before baby, skimpy swimsuits that don’t stay in their place we’re ok. Because I basically planted my butt in the sand with a glass of rosé in one hand and a book in the other and that was my day. Post baby, I spend my beach days chasing after my little nugget, swimming (and not casual floating or the occasional dunk, I mean reallllly swimming), so my swimsuit better stay where it’s supposed to, amiright?! I’m obsessed with THIS sporty white mix and match swimsuit I found on ASOS. One piece swimsuits and high waisted two pieces are my jam. I didn’t love to show my stomach before baby, and after baby I cover up as much of that as I can.

I am also going through a major polka dot phase, if you haven’t noticed (along with the rest of the world). And I am OBSESSED with this little white off the shoulder dress and have been dying to wear it. Bonus, it was only $24! So I am going to pair it with some red accessories and voila, I am 4th of July ready! I bought the petite version because I wanted it nice and short! But they have a regular version too.

If you’re spending the day on the beach like we will be, here are my favorite festive suits for the holiday!

If you’re like me and don’t really feel like buying anything major for the holiday, here are some fun and super cheap accessories to pair with something basic you already own!
