Take a mini-van to the village of Pai. It’s about a 3 hour van ride from Chiang Mai, but worth the trip! The road from Chiang Mai to Pai is the curviest road you will ever traverse in your life. It has 762 turns. So if need be, take motion sickness medication beforehand or DO NOT EAT.

Pai is a little hippy-like village where people can be found walking around barefoot, there are almost no vehicles, and fewer motorbikes than in Chiang Mai. The food is phenomenal and you will find plenty of vegetarian, health-conscious, earth-friendly cafes with incredible food. I’m not a vegetarian myself but the options were endless if you are! While in Pai rent motorbikes and go to Pai Canyon for some incredible views and a little (scary) cliff exploration.
